The WISH International Student House is one block from historic Barracks Row, two blocks from the Eastern Market Metro, and three blocks from the Eastern Market. This prime location is also a 10-minute walk to the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and House and Senate offices.
Eastern Market is Washington DC’s original and premier food & arts market located in the heart of the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood. It anchors a vibrant community of independent restaurants and shops of all kinds, and is a landmark destination for locals as well as tourists.
Eastern Market also marks a smaller community within the Capitol Hill neighborhood, where independent shops and restaurants flourish. Beyond the Flea Market, Eastern Market is also known for its cultural attractions, which include Barracks Row, The Congressional Cemetery, the Folger Shakespeare Library and theater and the Library of Congress.
The Eastern Market Station is on the blue and orange line and affords easy access to the National Mall, downtown Washington DC George Washington University and Georgetown. Capitol Hill is also a walking neighborhood, with many shops, cafes and restaurants and DC landmarks around each corner.
